I'm considering trading out my tired 07 motor for an 09. I'm aware I'll need the ECM from the 09 but are there any other changes I have to make? I'm trying to decide whether to do a full on rebuild or swap motors. |

Not just an ECM but the main harness too. Also, it technically is part of the motor, but 08+ throttle body, and throttle cables. There was a lot of little changes, there might be some other minor parts that need swapping too. |

The motor is removed from the frame and it appears a lot of the wiring is still attached like the ecm and its loom. It has the voltage regulator still wired so it looks pretty complete. It still has its injectors as well. The bike was a total so it appears to have been disassembled with parts like the ecm remaining wired up. I understand there is no way to be sure of whats involved by my observations themselves made from pictures but if the motor is still wired do you think it is doable and practical. I don,t know what a total rebuild would cost but putting it in a shop would cost $3000 or so if I can find a shop worth a damn reachable from Southern Calif. I am going on the road so I'm unable to take it on and I want to go riding. thks for your observations |

Why not contact one of the sponsors for the rebuild, assuming this hasn't been resolved? The engines are deceptively easy to remove from the bike. |
