Just got a 08Xb12r. It is cold here, and the bike is stored in an unheated garage. When I hit "start" there is a short (maybe 1 second) delay before it starts to *try* to turn over. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't - probably because it is so cold. Anyway, I'm wondering if this "delay" is normal. Thanks. |

Check your battery voltage. May be low. Kilroy |

Will do. So are you saying the "delay" isn't normal? |

No its not. Your starter should engage instantaneously. Delay is commonly due to weak battery. Also there should be a start relay you could check if the battery turns out to be okay. Let us know what voltage you have at the terminals. |

I was at 12, so I charged up to 14. Fired up, went for a 40 mile ride. Delay is no more. Thanks for the help! |
