How can I remove an aluminum part that is factory powered coated black? Can I soak it in acetone or laquer thinner or maybe there is a product for removing? |

I've had the best luck with tire spoons, they seem the most reliable way to remove powder coat. But that's probably not what you meant! You could shoot JB2 a note, he would probably know. |

Try MEK, it softens it quite well. It will probably remove it as well. Aircraft stripper WILL remove it.. however you might not want to have kids if you are around it long enough without a respirator. |

I have used MEK before to clean my spray guns and that stuff is really nasty in vapor state. I might try that tho it is cheaper than paint stripper. Just put it a pan and cover it over so the evaporation rate stays low and see what happens. |
