My 2000 X1 has just one strange issue: the headlight high beam doesn't want to work most of the time. The low beam works fine consistently. Hitting the passing lamp button on low beam makes the high beam indicator (blue) light up, but the passing lamp does not come on. Flipping the switch from low beam to high beam makes the headlight go off. Occasionally the high beam decides it wants to work, but not for very long. I've been inside the headlight enclosure (to replace the stock bulb with a more blue one, in the hopes that the problem was the bulb) and didn't find anything melted or otherwise unusual. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and/or has any suggestions. I'm thinking it's an issue with the switch, but I haven't taken it apart just yet. |

It is probably the wiring. Do you have a service manual? Just trace it out. May be a loose connector if your lucky. |

Yep, I've got an (electronic) copy of the service manual. I'll go through it when I get a chance -- lately I've been too busy enjoying the bike to work on it! |
