I was talking to a buddy and he told me of a pump that sears use to sell that I could use to pull oil out of my transmission. I know the drain plug is also a magnent and collects little bits of metal. I wouldn't use the pump every time but I sick of dropping the exhaust every time I change the oil. I have not had much luck finding a pump that would work. Anybody know of a pump could buy that would work for this job? |

If you can at least get the plug out w/o dropping the exhaust, just fashion a funnel out of a piece of cardboard to get the fluid around the muff. |

Don't siphon it - you need to drain it. You won't know if there is any crap in the bottom. The next time you have the can off, put a "dent" in it so you can get the plug out next time without taking the can off. Kilroy |

Yes drain - you'll want to clean the filings off the magnet! Someone on here years ago posted he routed a hose with a plug, just like the tubular gear oil drain. What type off can do you have on the bike (what model bike)? I got tired with both the z-bracket (stock) and the race can bolts. This is how I have my set up now and have had zero problems or trouble with it. I also use a piece of fishing line to use as a nylock insert-but don't have too.
