Is there a way to access the codes on a 2009 XB12 with the 1203 Thunderstorm engine? Building a custom, hacked out a bunch or wires/ relays, condensed fuse box etc. Pump runs and all the good stuff, just no spark. Pump runs when cranking so I'm presuming it sees the crank sensor. Does ECM spy work with the new setup? The engine is completely changed since the previous years. I have the shop manual but all you get is a wiring diagram, aargh! |

You can use ECMspy to read and clear the codes, but not much else can be done with the old ECMspy on the 2008+ motors. Also, for the 2008+ bikes there are two manuals, the service manual which you have, then the electrical diagnostic manual, part number 99493-09Y |

You might want to look into getting ECMRead for mono and TunerPro. |

Thanks. Hooked up the ECMspy this morning, only fault code is open cct on fan, it has been removed. Get all normal readings but tach sees nothing when cranking. The gauges have been removed from the bike, has have all the wires. I presume the ECMspy should see the tach reading anyway. Coil works so I'm thinking somethng with the crank sensor or control box! Will get book ordered today. |
