I bought a spare right hand switch cluster and looking to in stall the switch from a heated grip kit to serve as a HID on/off switch. Anyone have the part number. I suppose it doesn't really have to be the Buell OEM switch, but I can't seem to find anything else small enough to fit in that space. So...anyone have a part number?

The OEM switch is part of the assembly, it isn't something removable. You would best be off getting a switch from Radioshack.

Buells appear to use the same switch gear as Kawasaki. You might be able to find a similar switch used on some Kawasaki model. Possibly a Euro model with a headlight off switch.

Neat

I looked around for that switch as well. They are the same as some Kawasakis but they don't supply them separately either.

Hadn't thought of putting a slim push button switch in the hole.

yeah, that switch fits PERFECTLY into the compartment where the heated grip switch goes...and the switch is sealed so it's pretty waterproof as well. I was able to run the wires out with the harness and close up the compartment with all the original covers and screws. (don't know if you've seen the back of that switch housing, but there's a little compartment with a cover plate).

all I had to do was enlarge the hole for the switch to poke through, making sure that the hole opened in the right direction...you want to enlarge the hole in an upward and rightward direction with the switch facing you as it does mounted on the bike.
