i purchased my Ss new in '06, when i picked out the one i wanted, the dealer had it mounted on this cornering display,
(sorry for crappy old cell phone pic). when i went to pick the bike up i found damage on the right fork lower and fork tube between the triple clamps, from the display. i had the dealer replace the damaged parts. believing the service department knew what they were doing, when i picked the bike up i confirmed the new parts were installed, but didn't do a full inspect. well today i found my fork alignment to be off by about an 1/8 of an inch. with the left fork slightly higher in the triple clamp. my question is can i align the forks properly without removing everything or should i start from scratch? |

There should be a ring on each tube to act like stoppers for the forks so they should line up in the trees. You can easily prop up the front end using triple tree stands and then loosen the pinch bolts to readjust it. Also take note, one fork tube is longer than the other, but they should be 100% lined up in the trees. |
