today was a great day for riding, so my girlfriend and i cruised around for a while. we've been talkin about teaching her to ride so when we passed a vacant parking lot i had a spur of the moment idea...just let her ride a little bit. we putted around the parking lot for a couple laps until she felt comfortable. i decided to let her cruise across the lot, about 100 yards, by herself back to our gear. i must say i was proud at how she pulled off, held it straight and smooth and even stopped. then when she went to put her short little leg down to catch the bike, it was heavier than she expected and it flopped right on over. she somehow managed to roll away and avoid significant injury and also managed to save my bike also...so i thought. after crossing the lot, actually i was chasing her the whole time, and picking her up...my bike, not the girl...i noticed a small black rubber piece rolling around...the damn toe peg for the shift lever!!! oh the agony!!! she broke my bike!!! i rolled it into third with my hand and trucked off. gotta love that harley torque. made the ride home no problem. |

Glad she is OK. A toe peg should cost under $5 from the dealer. And in the meantime you could probably use a 2" bolt. Not sure about the exact size. |

k, should be under $5, but you gotta know the motor company would never stand for that. i don't remember the quote, but i use an allen bolt heated enough to be jammed thru some tight fitting thick walled black hose from an auto parts store. locktite and a nylock nut complete the industrial look.... |
