If youve ever removed your drive pulley, you know it is a difficult job. Some people lock the rear wheel, or stand on the brake while trying to remove the nut. Heating the area might damage the seal as well. I got the nut off okay, then made this jigger to help me put it back on............. The standard axle driver fits the swing-arm bolt, and the spanner locks up against the pulley teeth..........

Thanks for the comments. It def makes it easy and reduces the chance of scratching the bike. re the pulley cover: We have this nifty Mill at work, and I'm all alone on night shift........... |

man, the more i look at that cover the more i love it. I've been looking for the perfect cover for a while now and cant seem to find one i like. Most of the aftermarket ones just don't do it for me. So i gotta ask, since its a one off, what would it take for you to make a duplicate? That thing is just too damn sexy! |

Anyone is welcome to copy it.....I've got so much from this site already, its the least I can do Any machine shop should be able to make it, just remember the bolt holes need to be in the teeth of the sprocket where there is more metal. (That's why there are nine, one in every third tooth) The dimensions are optional, I made mine so it sticks thru the pulley cover by about half an inch, I intend to engrave the flat face with the buell logo one day. If you don't want to copy it, shoot me a PM and we'll work something out. |
