I went ahead and broke and bought the CRG mirrors. Any recommendations on how to cover the hole left by the factory mirror? TIA Sam |

You can get a factory black plastic plug to stick in there, i don't know the part number, but i know its available |

Measure the hole diameter and go to your local Pep Boys. They'll most likely have a trim plug of sorts that would fit? Henrik |

We normally supply them with the mirrors when we ship from American Sport Bike...but due to a transition issue from Tat and Maria to Joanne and I, a small number of mirrors escaped without them being put in the box (but we're not sure which ones or to who). If you bought them from us, please let me know and I'll send some out to you. If you didn't get them from us, order a catalog or something and I'll throw a couple in with the order. Thanks, Al |

Fire go the the hardware store -- they'll have em in with the drawers of nuts and bolts, but a nickel a piece (my mirrors also snuck out without plugs a couple of years ago) |

Thanks Al. Actually did not order them from you. Sorry. Got them from CRG directly. I just ordered them, I'll check them out when they get here. Bomber and Rockbiter1, thanks for the responses. I'll see which looks cleaner. Thanks again. Sam

Any Buell dealership will have them or they can order them. That's how I got mine when I switched to the bar-end mirrors. I think it was a dollar or so. |

Al, I'll be orering them from you in a couple weeks, so hopefully mine won't sneak out without them -- that was a question I had in the back of my head as well... Here's another question I had about the CRG mirrors (especially the hinged ones). Everybody knows how badly the stock mirrors vibrate on a Lightning -- you can't even make out what's behind you when on the highway. How stable are the hinged CRG mirrors? Steve. |

I originally had the non-hinged ones on my S1W, and then I converted them to the hinged ones. I noticed no difference whatsoever in the vibe levels in the mirror. They seem to stay put nicely. There is a small buzz to the mirror when your hand isn't on the bar, but as soon as you hand goes back on, rock steady. But that is there regardless of the hinges or not. I'm thinking about making little bolt plates to hold my fairing on on my S3 and just putting the bar ends on it to. The S3 mirrors suck big time, just wankawankaing out there so bad you can't make out ANYTHING in them. Al |

vibes on the crgs minimal . . . .very clear image . . . it was hard to talk myself into spending that much dough on a pair of mirrors, but I've been really really pleased with them . . . .worth every penny! |

Thanks guys -- I think they'll be well worth the money simply in terms of actually being able to see what's behind... Steve. |

I came across a post about bar-end mirrors a while back where someone had purchased a set from a bicycle shop for <$20 each. I don't recall where I saw that... anyone on here remember seeing it? A search failed me, so it may have been on another forum. I really like the ones that Al has, but being on a very tight budget does not allow for those particular mirrors (No offense intended Al.. If I had the money I would jump on those in a heartbeat ) |

I'm using the Third Eye bar ends on my CityX and am happy with the price/performance relationship of those mirrors. Reepicheep has posted a helpful "how to" post regarding the Third Eyes. Good luck with your decision. |
