I am posting this for my brother who does not have much computer access. He just picked up a 2009 xb9sx and added a Jardine RT slip on pipe.

Since the pipe install he has experienced a lot of popping on decel and a major flat spot in all gears at around 4k RPM.

Any suggestions on what can be done to remedy this situation and get the bike running in proper order? It doesn't look like EBR makes an ECM for 2009 xb9's.

thanks for your help

Get the bike tuned using Directlink, or send an email to EBR asking for an ECM for the XB9. I am almost certain they have one, just not currently on the site. If not, he can just get the fully programmable DDFI3 ECM and do it that way.

Before he does all that, just try reinstalling the muffler and make sure he uses a new clamp and sensor safe sealant at the slip joint. Decel popping is more often than not caused by exhaust leaks because of less-than-perfect sealing between the muffler and header pipe.
