I am riding a 2003 Firebolt XB9R. I need to replace the engine temp sensor (Buell part #P1278.K which superseded part #Y0605.K) and it has been back-ordered for a while now. This part is nowhere to find, no dealership in the U.S, nor any other website out there) I am now looking into alternatives to get back on the road. Does anyone know the resistor used or the resistance of the engine temp sensor on this bike. Or a similar resistor/engine temp sensor from another company or a car that uses such a part....Any help is appreciated as this is getting very frustrating. Thanks |

The ETS is a thermistor that varies resistance nonlinearly with temperature. The resistance ranges from approx 0 ohms at 300 deg C, 41.3k ohms at 25 deg C to 134k ohms at 0 deg C. What's makes you think you need to replace it? |

I was having engine performance issues. Bogging while in middle of riding as well as a decrease in engine power and simultaneously the check engine light would come on. Had it hooked up to a comp At the dealership which showed the error code associated with the temp sensor. I've had it torn apart for months and I still await a backordered part! Frustrating to say the least. I'm trying to find a solution somehow some way. Thanks sparky, do they sell that type of resister? Also I hear the sensor is made by Bosch? And buell keeps changing the part number to add to the confusion. |

Kyle, I dropped you a reply on the other forum - I'm in Melbourne Australia and will check with my dealer on Monday about price and availability of the old part number here in Australia. |

Thanks Rays. Shoot me an email on whichever forum directly when you get a chance to check on that. I will cross-check the older part numbers in the mean-time. I appreciate it! Kyle |
