one of my buells is a 00 X1 which i have owned since new and has almost 20k on the clock now. i have done all the common repairs that we have all done over the years, ie. intake seals, rocker box gaskets, tps resets and so-on. over a year ago the front cylinder head gasket started seeping oil, at least that what it appears to be. it is leaking just under the head on the front cylinder and runs back along the fins on the left side. it is not very bad, i just wipe it off the brake clean every 3 or 4 times i ride it. i have already replaced the front rocker box gaskets a few years ago at around 13k miles. after reading the replacement procedure in my service manual i decided to live with it through the 2009 season to see if it worsened which it really hasn't.

my question is about what could be causing this to happen and if anyone else has been living with this issue. i have read on here a few theories about breathers and catch cans and have had prob 3 or 4 different set-ups on this bike over the years. one of which was a simple chrome breather mounted under the left footpeg which simply sprayed puke on the ground. the tube was long but was never smaller than a 3/8" hose or steel pipe so i dont believe it to have been to restricted. i used the same set-up on my 02 S3T and never had any issues with cyl head gasket seepage. i have since changed to a catch can mounted up closed to the engine. this bike doesnt get many miles anymore since i have 2 other buells to ride so just living with it may be the way to go unless i learn that unknown damage could occur. thanks!
