I need to change the oil on my 2001 Buell Blast, however, I've never changed the oil on a motorcycle before. I do it all the time on my car though. Where are the drain & fill plugs? What kind of oil do I use? How much do I put in there? Is there anything else I should know before I get to it? All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Everything you want to know is in the owners manual and service manual. Drain plugs are the two tubes near the rear left footpeg, the filler is on the frame by the steering neck. |

One is the oil tank drain and the other drains the crankcase breather system. You'll want to pull the plugs from both hoses. Naturally one will gush oil out and the other typically has a teaspoon or 3 of oily water. |

Remove the dipstick prior to pulling those plugs and the oil will drain out faster. Warm the engine a bit if possible to keep the nastys in suspension to get more of them out of there. |
