whats the difference in the xb 9 & the xb 12 piston -what ive measured there the same bore & ihe pin to piston deck & pin dia are the same --but catalogs show them as different ?? |

The 9 piston is domed to give a smaller combustion chamber. That keeps the compression ratio the same as the 12 with the shorter stroke 9 crank. If you put 9 pistons into a 12 motor you get a higher compression ratio. Somewhere in the 12:1 range. |

what im seein only the xb9r is domed i have some xb9 not r pistons & they are flat |

Then they are not stock/OEM XB9 pistons. |

There is absolutely no difference between engines for XB9 "R" and "S" model bikes. |
