Hey all, Im in the process of restoring my stolen xb9 to its former glory. I installed the rear light and for some reason the brake light wont come on. I tested the light and it works. The wire that is supposed to be sending the signal is simply not doing its job. Any ideas on how to fix this problem or where to start looking? thanks |

Do you have a basic voltmeter? Use it to check the 3 wires for the brake light to see if they are getting power when you press the lever. Also, try both front and rear brake levers, it could be a bad switch. |

It would also be easier with a service manual to trace it back. It may just be a loose or dirty contact (or bad switch). Especially since it is so new. OH and did you adjust the brake switches. (Message edited by Buell_Bert on January 05, 2010) |

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I tried the rear pedal and it wont light up the brake either. When i touch the wire to the running light wire the brake light works so i know it is not the bulb. Somehow the current is just not getting to the brake light wire. |
