My coworker took his '09 XB12Ss in for the front brake line recall and re-routing. They took the easy way out and switched clamps (the new clamp of course is angled incorrectly for the original line routing and looks like it was installed by a chimpanzee), but did not do the re-routing, which would of course meant bleeding the front brake which they obviously billed Buell for on the re-call warranty labor. Fraud is fraud and pretty much what I have come to expect from H-D based service centers in these new boutique shops. Gets right back to the fact you can be SURE on the $300-$400 services it's nothing more than a fluffed up oil change. They hit you for 3-4 hours labor and spend a whopping 30-45 minutes glossing over the machine. He and I will continue to do our own work at our homes. I won't waste my time having them do my brake-line recall. A simple 20 minute job and they were too lazy to even try and do it right. |
