Sorry if I am stating the obvious but make sure it is in neutral, the run switch is on and the ignition is on by physically confirming the bike does roll and headlight is on, etc.

First of all do you hear a click coming from the Start Relay when you press the Starter Button?

If yes, there is a small gauge wire on a blade quick-disconnect connector on the starter that comes from the Start Relay. Make sure that wire is connected to the starter.

If no click, try pulling in the clutch lever while trying to start. The clutch switch should allow starting even if not in neutral or if the side stand is down.

Had the same problem. The contact inside the start button had gunk on it. cleaned the contacts with sandpaper and works like new.
