I'm in the market for some bags for my bike. I have 1125R. I've looked at what BMC is offering and have checked a few other sites as well. My question is: Has anyone had any luck with anything other than the Buell made gear. I really don't want to have to do any major mods to make something work the way it should, just to save a few bucks. If you're using something that works, let me know make and model. Thanks! |

don't know if Ventura luggage has made anything for the 1125's yet. worth checking, as this will give you most options and very good capacity. Having a hard time picturing saddlebags, seat bag and tank bag on an 1125R.......... But if Buell makes 'em, that'll carry a lot already, and Rox straps to lash a thing or two on top has been down on xb's - see some of the posts on touring setups. |

American Sport Bike carries Ventura luggage racks and two sizes of bags that fit on the racks for 1125s. I got the standard Ventura setup on my R from them. High quality, good fitting stuff. |

Ventura 1125R/1125CR Luggage. You can also order the Ventura grab handle to replace the rack and also give the passenger something else to hang onto. |

Dowco makes some nice aftermarket luggage, in varying price ranges. I really like the fastrax elite series, with changable color inserts to match your bike. I believe they are available through biker's choice/tucker rockey. but you could just go to dowco's website and find a dealer. |

Thought I'd come back here and let you know what I ended up doing. I initially went with the Cortech Sport saddle and tail bag. I liked it quite a bit, however, someone liked it a lot more than I. It was stolen, along with my rain gear(rain gear was in the tail bag). I only had the set up for about 2 months, and made one trip with it. It worked just fine, maybe a tad bit on the small side as far as storage goes(it was a 5 day trip). Here's what I have now, Nelson Rigg.
I went with these for a couple of reasons, life time warranty on the zippers, and additional storage space, the tail bag is huge! I saved a bit going this rout as well. I forgot to mention, big thanks to Avc8130 for steering me towards the Nelson Rigg set up (Message edited by jelomadnes on February 24, 2010) |
