Here what it looks like after removing the primary cover (to do that I followed the service manual). To be able to move on I fabricated my own Sprocket Locking Tool: Then I unscrewed the Engine Sprocket nut: Then I removed the Retaining Ring and Adjusting Screw Assembly: and unscrewed the Clutch Shell with Clutch Sprocket: Then I removed the Engine Sprocket, Clutch Shell with Sprocket and the Primary Chain. It turned out that the Engine Sprocket is attached to the Alternator Rotor Assembly: I unscrewed the Engine Sprocket from the Rotor Assembly: but they stick to each other really hard and I cannot split them. Here is what the manual says about how to remove the sprocket from the rotor: As I don't have the press, I took the rotor to the garage to get the engine sprockets swapped. Once it's done I'll continue with my work and my writeup. |

Part numbers for 2009 Buell XBike primary sprocket (Alternator Rotor & Sprocket Assembly) are: XB9 Alternator Rotor & 34 Tooth Sprocket Assembly: 30018-08 (entire assembly including alternator rotor 8 screws and 34 tooth sprocket) XB12 Alternator Rotor & 38 Tooth Sprocket Assembly: 30029-08 (entire assembly including alternator rotor 8 screws and 38 tooth sprocket) There is no part number in my parts book for just the sprocket. |

I am wondering if you are able to get the clutch hub off without the clutch packet put together. I had a wreck and need to get it off but dont have any of the 8 guide pieces left. Any ideas? |
