Got some cracking happening on my S1 front fender due to an off road excursion. I'd like to repair it from behind to prevent further cracking. I can do some real repairs somewhere down the road. On my Japanese bikes I just got out the big soldering iron and melted it back together from behind. What would be a good recommended fix? OCBueller |

What is the way to clean the cast side covers on the engine-trans? They seem to be painted but mine are already getting stains on them after 600 miles. Thanks Ron |

Will an S2T right fairing lower fit an S3T? Or, do the exhaust and frame changes get in the way. I'm already removing the breadbox. Any help is appreciated. |

On my S2T right fairing lower question; I do not mean will it bolt right up. Can I make it work with some slight mods? I'm used to modifying almost everything I mount to a car or bike. No one ever makes exactly what I'm looking for. In other words, Neil's answer wasn't what I was looking for. |

Has anybody ordered "primed" bodywork from Buell before? Thinking of going with a complete custom paint scheme and was wondering if the primed-only parts are of decent quality. Hoping for little to no prep required.(my painter is rather expensive). thanks........ |

Doug: I just got a primered S3 fairing from BMC. It was really finished first rate. You could tell they spent time blocking the fairing and then primer again. The finished primered piece was very smooth and ready for color, except you need your painter to spray a coat of primer within 24 hrs of spraying the color coat(s). That is one thing that PPG recommends. Look at: PPG Refinish. They have all the specs on their paints, primers and clearcoats. Time2Run Neil |

is there anybody that knows about a license plate kit that would eliminate the ugly back fender, while still able to use the trunk lock? which would be used on my 2000 X1.... X1MAN |

X1Man, Go to American Sport Bikes web page above. They have a great kit that eliminates the fender with a Carbon Fiber piece and keeps your trunk and lock. It's beautiful!! Dan |

Oh paint people answer me this. I have the paint code for Onyx Alloy (99X1 for those who care) 95152-32 what does this mean? Do I just hand these numbers over to the paint shop and cross my fingers? Is it a Buell number or a recognised number by paint people? 3uell |

Does your tank cover rattle like crazy at certain RPM? My X1's did and drove me nuts. Today I pulled off the side panels and, after loosening the tank cover, flexed it to see where it hit. Turns out mine vibrates on those 2 front tank ears. My solution was to use some of that flesh-like low density foam...2" square pads cut about 3/8" thick and double stick them to the top of the tank ears. I placed three others spaced around on the tank in front of the filler neck for good measure. Voila, now I can hear the motor. |

the new parts n accessories has the new X1 paint sets of red splash on concrete for a mire $2299.00 its a numbered set of 50. the classic paint is a smooth black with a cool platinum stripes. Now that would look cool on my bike. But its $999. I could get some locals to do a stripe for less than that. |

Richy: I'm not sure if this is the old or new number, but here's what I have: 96014-98yy9 It's three bottles: a silver base coat, blue topcoat and then a clear coat. Should run you about $15. Ocbueller: Depends which Banke mount you have. Old Banke shifters didn't work with the chin fairing. Theres a sandwhich piece that goes in between the chin fairing and the engine that allows the shifter mount to cleany attach..hard to descibe. Call Banke at 831.335.1422 Vik |

Vik, Thanks for the input. Shifter was bought about a year ago from Tat. I didn't receive any of the stock hardware for the spoiler so it's a bit of a head scratcher. I'll give Tat or Banke a call. Thanks. OCBueller |

Udo's Xs1 is really great looking. I'm a big fan of the Nuc blue rims and the s1 tail. That combo wins big. The exposed engine adds alot more. I would ditch the stock handlebars and get clip ons because they'd look better on the bike now that it has more angles than curves. |

What does a front chin fairing bracket for a 99X1look like? Can anyone draw, scan a diagram or post a photo? I got the chin fairing with the bike but no bracket. Anyone got one lying around? I figured I would just make one to mount to either the front shock bolt or the shock resevoir mounting bolt. No decent dealers nearby, BadWeb has been most useful. SteveH |

Seasons Greetings, In the past I've had quite a bit of experience hot-air welding PVC, CPVC, PP, HDPE and PVDF. I resently replaced most of the bodywork on my 98 S3T (due to vibration fractures, not crashing). I was thinking of experimenting on the tail section with a little hot-air welding. Does anyone know the physical properties of the body panels (plastic)? |

Hello, Everyone, My name is Chuck -- and I own a 2000 M2. Does anyone make a "rear cowling" that can cover the passenger part of my stock seat? I thought a "solo seat" might look cool on the Buell. |

Hi Chuck, i don't know for your question, but a dealer that i visited gave me a good idea : you can cover the rear part of your seat with a piece of leather coloured same color as your bike, it would gave nearly the same effect as a "rear cowling" . It doesn't work if your bike is black like mine. bye Christophe |

So Chuck, sorry for you , i got orange wheels and i think i'll cover the pilot's part of the seat with orange leather. The rear-black part of the seat don't need to be covered or coloured because it seems to be a part of the (i don't know how to say it in english) rear fairing(?) . One thing for you to do : colour yours wheels !!! Christophe |

O.K. paint guru's, I've got one for you..... How about a paint code # for nuclear blue???? I know Classic Coatings powdercoats this on new Buells. BUT! What about the touch-up paint that's not powdercoat. If I can identify the paint code # (not the part no.) I can paint some bodywork to match the frame. Any ideas? Doug P. \image |

Bomber, Start prowling the cycle salvage yards. no telling what you will come across. If you do not know of one local to you. Pop motorcycle salvage into a search engine. There is bound to be one in a reasonable distance to you. on the note of fairings and stuff; I saw something the other day. Thank the man upstairs it was not on a Buell. someone had taken one of those tall sit behind windscreens and had it mounted to a Nighthawk S. Talk about bad taste loki |
