Its time to replace the cooling fan on my sons '06 CityX, seems pretty straight forward. After reading the manual it says to remove subframe, shock and then the fan. Can I just get away with removing the shock and NOT the subframe to save time? I will be jacking up to take the weight off the swingarm, do I have to loosen the belt tensioner? or don't worry about it (manual does not say anything about it).

Thanks
Royce.

Jack it up, take the shock off. I undid the rear brake reservoir to give me some room. Undo the grill. Loosen fan. Undo the electrical connector. Wiggle the fan out. You don't have to mess with the subframe. I have an 06 City. I just did mine today to change the O2 sensor.

Thanks for the note, replaced the fan last night, took my son and I about an hour (including wrenching instructions) from start to finish. We left the brake reservoir in place and were still able to get the fan out. To date I have found this bike pretty easy to work on.
