I wan to have a quiet performance exhaust, so i was thinking about running the Race ECM on my 9 with 12 headers and a 12 muffler. --Sean   Petebueller Posted on Thursday, August 06, 2009 - 06:33 pm:        I'm pretty sure that the XB9s from at least '05 (and probably '04) have the white cable attached to the ECM so yours should have the wiring to the plug under the seat. You won't have the actuator. Not sure if XB9s have the final bit of wiring that connects to the actuator. I can check when I get home tonight. This 3 wire cable is strapped in to the XB12 harness. It would seem a pain to make different harnesses for XB9 and XB12 just for this.   Thespive Posted on Friday, August 07, 2009 - 01:39 am:        Mine is an '06 and I just bought a complete actuator and harness from the classifieds, so I should be good there. As long as I can use ECMSpy to make a 9 Race ECM activate the valve, I should be able to make this work. --Sean   Petebueller Posted on Friday, August 07, 2009 - 02:01 am:        Hi Sean I found an EEPROM for an XB9 and the active muffler control isn't available in ECMSpy, which I guess means the XB9 ECM doesn't support it. There are quite a lot of parameters that are different between the 12 and the 9. Rev limits, an the definition of the open loop learn range are just a couple. The Race ECM is tuned to the Race Muffler and not a stock. It's an interesting project,but I think you'll need a guru to help set it up.   Thespive Posted on Sunday, August 23, 2009 - 10:46 pm:        Hmmm, I was talking to a member in Switzerland who says you CAN activate the valve on a 9 Race ECM. The idea is that I want to use my Race ECM on my 9 with a 12 header and 12 stock muffler. But I was unable to figure out in ECMSpy 1.7.8 how to do it, or if it was possible. I'd really like to make it work, if possible. --Sean
