Hi people, I'm new here, new to Buells and new to Rhode Island. I just bought this bike and want to make some changes. Should I stick to routing the crank breather back through the intake or let it vent to the atmosphere? Now I mainly want to know if in Rhode Island do the inspectors look for changes to the breather system and would you actually fail state inspection if you make any changes to how the crank vents? thanks! |

I'm pretty sure that you will need a catch can or some sort of device to keep your breather hose from dripping any liquid on the ground, this is environmental hazard. They might not check for it if the bike "seems un-modified", but still a hazard to you. Maybe not a hazard if just you do it, but everyone would start doing it and it would snowball to pollution. also you dont want that goo that comes out of your breather (oil/water) to get on your bike or your tires more importantly. Even if your bike doesnt goo when you check it in the garage, it will goo while riding. google "buell catch cans" lots of info or even just call the lisence place, some many people ask stupid questions there that you wont be picked out of the bunch for asking the info. |
