Well, it was a bargain. And they said some stuff was probably missing. To further complicate things, I just "THINK" it was supposed to fit an M2. It doesn't want to. I'm sure I can persuade it to cooperate one way or another, but before starting a major engineering project, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Does this look like M2 "L" brackets? The number is mostly what Ventura says is for the M2, but the pic's look different. All their pic's look the same though. If somebody had a picture of how they connect to the M2 frame tube it might help. I just want to be sure I'm not missing something simple before I break out my torch and big hammer and install them. Does anybody recognize these?

you are missing a spacer (tube thing). go to a hardware store with a BIG selection of fasteners. chances are the big box store will NOT have what you are looking for. the proper fit is a challenge, but don't give up. DO NOT HAMMER, TORCH, OR OTHERWISE SQUIDDIFY A PERFECTLY GOOD SET. have you called ventura for assistance? do it tomorrow. if they won't help you, i'll get over to the storage and find my old stuff. |

Thanks Fast, Yeah, the "U" clamps obviously clamp around the frame with the spacer to keep it from getting too tight, I figured I can make a spacer with a pipe nipple. When I put them on the frame though, I can't find a place to make them line up right. The only place that's close makes them cozy up with the blinkers, and they are too low for the rack to clear the seat. There is nothing to line up with the rear part for those bolts to go into either. I think I've got "L" brackets for something else. The number they have is the same except it has a "B" after it. Mine might be for the older M2 frame. I looked at the Blast and the XB, won't fit them either. I guess I should call them, but they are all the way over on the other side of the world. Looks for all the world like Danger Dave on their website. I spect they would propose buying the proper brackets which I couldn't do right now anyway. I thought I was in a rush to get them on, but that ride got squashed anyway. I had actually forgot about these and was hunting the lost saddle bags I have and found this stuff. I've got stuff scattered and buried all over the place. Don't rush, but just wait till next time you are there and look at those things. I'll figure something eventually. There's always duct tape and coat hangers. Rotzaruck!! |

Steeler NO! Fasted sent me the number to call(to see about getting what's missing), and I keep meaning to do it at work. Haven't managed to get it done. Every night, I vow to call the next day. Now I'm vowing to call on Monday. I have no idea what the missing link looks like. When I get them on there though I will post a picture. One of these days..... |

How wide is it. We have three rack systems, one for the Uly, one for the M2 and one for the Blast. Each bike takes a different width rack. M2 = 11" Uly = 12" Blast = 13" I may be off on that but they all are different sizes.

Carlos I'll measure those and report back. I have the big ol' bag like your pic. I need to get motivated and get that on there. I look like I'm riding a pack mule with groceries strapped and cargo bungied all over it. It would hold everything except those fem. products I'm requested to get. I just never have room for those. I have a feeling I could make something to replace what's missing, but guidance would help. Thanks |

The rack part where it slides into the "L" brackets are right at 10 7/8" center to center. I STILL didn't manage to call those people today. If tomorrow is like today was.....maybe I can call them Thursday. |

I'll see if I can take picture of the set up under the tail. One thing that I found out is that the L-tubes do not always parallel each other once mounted. It took a little twisting after mounting to get the tubes looking the same way so I would get the rack in place. I also have more than one rack. I have the low rack and a 5L bag for around town and the hand rail as well. It takes some effort to get the tall rack on because I believe it is bent. |

I would appreciate it, but there's no rush. I realized this morning when somebody said I need to get the payroll done that it really is Friday. I missed another day or two again. I still failed to call those people. Monday again I guess. |

Strangest stupid thing happened today. Happens a lot around here. I've been trying to get things organized to go on a little journey (maybe). I finally got my new tires on in little short attacks between all the chaos around here. So today I thought I would put some thought into getting this Ventura thing on. I pulled the pieces out of the big box full misc. packing and shredded paper. I had thoroughly dug through all that stuff repeatedly. How I missed this one piece, I don't know. BUT I FOUND IT!! Now I was only missing the little spacer sleeve and that was easy! The missing piece was a lot easier to find than it would have been to make. If anybody needs to see where and how they mount:
When you have all of it, it's not bad at all putting it on. The holes under the seat through the tail piece were the only trouble I had, they didn't line up. I think that's because of some of the life experiences my M2 has had. |
