I'm wondering if Court had anything to do with this. I just got my new Buell Deluxe tank bag. and noticed it's a little different from the last one.
First it's seems a wee bit shorter front to back. It's definitely a different shape because the holes on the map holder do not line up with the mounting posts at all. It can be made to fit by bending it but it's definitely shaped differently. For me it's a non issue but it might be an issue for others.
Inside, the small pocket up front is gone, replaced by a small pouch in the rear.
The most notable thing is the zipper. There's about an inch of overhang at the top rear of the bag. It looks like it will give the zipper enough give to avoid the 'zipper pulled away from bag corners' problem.
At the very front is an opening for running wires. I found it amusing as I was flying down my favorite road and noticed my bag puffing up like a balloon as air forced itself through the tiny opening. It's a non issue as well. I just thought it was funny.
The bag itself seems more rigid than the older one (This is good). The bottom seems to conform to the shape of the air box better too (this is very good). I have high hopes for this bag. Time will tell. |

Two weeks now and the zipper stitching shows no sign of wear or tear! It has already surpassed the last two bags. Three if I count the non deluxe that suffered the same fate as the last two (older style) deluxes. After one week you could literally see where the threads were getting stressed in the corners. Not this one. It's solid. It also sits very snug on the air box still. All the others started getting loose after the fist couple of days. Two weeks with this one and it's still tight. Thank you Buell for addressing the bag issue. If a certain somebody brought the bag issue to Buells attention, Thank you too. Very greatly appreciated |
