Got the select seat for my 09 xb12scg and after a day the vinyl started to lift at the rear(where your butt crack would be)and it looks like crap!!! Dealer agrees so it will be replaced under warranty(backorder) but have seen photos of used select seats for sale on ebay with same problem. Are they all bad? |

Poor quality yes. I'm on my 3rd one. First 2 replaced under warranty as well. Comfy seat though. |

Here are some pics like you requested Court. Please let me know if you get any answers.Thanks. P.S Don`t know if it matters but I only weigh 145lbs so I don`t think im to heavy for the seat.

Court, It is still my current one. Im waiting for Harley-Davidson Montreal to receive the replacement. I have this feeling in my gut that it is going to do the same thing. If its ok with you I will keep you up to date when I receive the new one. Out of the box it`s looks fine after you sit on it for one ride the vinyl starts to lift at the butt crack area as if the vinyl was to tight and/or not a good glue. Thanks a million. We are such a small voice as an individual so it`s great there people like you to make it heard. |

Thats exactly what my current one looks like. And my first two seats started pulling up in the deep "V" section as well. Poor glue I suspect. |

Mine did this the day after I received it. I just returned it for a new one and haven't had the problem yet after two months. |

Was it correct out of the box? Please keep track of the date and miles and see how it performs. Mark it on your calendar and get back to me in 90 days. I want to let the manufacturer know the results. |

Please do. The ball is rolling on this. It's a bit removed from Buell but not beyond control. Information is good. And . . my apologies to the folks who promptly sent me information. I've been swamped the last couple weeks and working off a Blackberry. Be sure in your e-mail to me to put something like BUELL SELECT SEAT in the subject. Thanks to you guys . . . .Buell owners are such an important part of the companies continuous improvement! Court |

Call HD/Buell customer service. Told me to return it for another one... told them what if it's bad also?? They said just to keep returning it until I get a good one. How stupid! Asked if I could get one shipped to me that was good... nope. Now I'm stuck with a $200 seat that looks like a kid upholstered it! |

>>>Now I'm stuck with a $200 seat that looks like a kid upholstered it! Wrong. You would be if you'd bought it from Honda or Kawasaki. I've had this one on the back burner, I'll get started tomorrow. Be sure, like I had other folks do recently, to send me your information.

>>>I think we should all chip in and keep him here You can't chip enough . . . and money would never do it. I send cases of Buell stuff to folks every month (lots of it that I buy personally) and have never charged anyone a nickel for parts or shipping. That includes all the shirts I pay to have made in Lawrence, KS and send to folks. I frankly enjoy the hell out of doing it and the folks at Buell are an absolute delight to work with. I'm just getting old and increasingly irrelevant. |
