Try one of the sponsors. They sometimes pop up on Ebay. |

It seems a lot of owners are looking for lids, either wide or narrow, and they don't seem to be getting cheaper. Has anyone thought of a group buy for someone to manufacture repro's? Another thought: BMC must have contracted out a fair amount of manufacturing of the parts and accessories. I wonder with the shuttering of BMC, if those manufacturers could be persuaded to dust off their tooling? HD certainly won't order any more. It would be nice if we had a Buell insider give us the skinny on just who made what for our bikes. |

>>>It would be nice if we had a Buell insider give us the skinny on just who made what for our bikes. Dan Lang and Dan Remington. Actually the S3 bags were outsourced . . . but the quantity was small (like 17 sold in CA) and it was 12 years ago. The guy who designed the S3 bag is living in CA now . . I can check and see if I can learn anything. There are two folks who would have a pretty good handle on it if they can recall. |

I was at a trade show yesterday talking to a local manufacturer of shipping and tool cases about this dilemma. It's possible with a group order we could get S3 bag shells reproduced. Inners, wide and or narrow lids. They probably would not be exact reproductions due to short run tooling and manufacturing processes, and would always need paint to match, but would look correct, and should accept the stock hardware, which at last check was still mostly available from HD. Any interest? This is just a feeler for interest, I'm not making any promises. |

I am interested. Could we also get someone to make S3T fairing lowers? |
