The wife and I just picked up a Cardo scalarider Q2 teamset. I thought I would share our experiences for others. First off these are a headset that installs in our helmets. It uses Bluetooth wireless for communication between headsets. Because it uses Bluetooth one can also link to a cell phone or a bluetooth GPS. The set also comes with an FM reciever and a plugin to connect an Ipod/MP3 player. Firstly mounting to the helmet can be done by either a clip-on bracket that goes between the shell and liner, or they also offer a mount that tape-glues to the outside. Then the speakers velcro to the padding inside the helmet. It took us about 15 min. to install per helmet. As we got the Teamset they were already 'paired' and voice comm worked right from the get go. We then 'paired' with our cell phones. This was easily done. The directions say we can pair with 1 other headset, but it doesn't work as a three-way you must select to speak with the other unit. While riding around the back roads in WV we had no problems talking and the system worked very well. I was able to make and recieve cell calls with no problems. The system puts cell calls as priority over the voice comm. so you get a ringing that interupts everything else. The only problems I had were with the voice recognition, and my phone has always had problems with this. We are quite pleased with the system for these features. Now to the bad. FM sucks. This thing needs an antenna. It has 6 built-in presets. You have to change them and it's a pain. There is no identification for which station you are on so you must guess. The Ipod/MP3 connection, offers no amplification. Your player must power and control the volume. I doubt my ipod will be loud enough for comfortable listening. Update- Used it all day today and the Ipod worked great. Lastly as this uses speakers not earbuds, speaker placement in critical, and no they don't plug in so there is no easy swapout Over all we are pleased. It is nice to be able to talk while riding and the range while short is good enough that we had no problems, the wife had to really try to get back far enough to cut out. Cell has worked perfectly, every one says I come through loud and clear. Over all a thumbs up, not perfect but worth the money. Hope this helps some that may be thinking about a headset.
