i bought a 1997 black S1 with 3300 miles this week and want to put a few performance mods on before this riding season is over. It has a vance n hines pipe, im looking to wrap the pipes and do some sort of new intake on it. Any recommendations on an intake (besides a forcewinder)and or new carb. I also want to change out the existing turn signals and brake light(hopefully something that will have a license plate bracket included), if anyone has a link to any sights with products i would appreciate the help, i am extremely happy to be part of the buell family and thanks again beforehand! |

Look at American Sport Bike, a BadWeB board sponsor, for high quality, highly recommended stuff that works. They have quite a variation in styles of aftermarket intakes, exhausts and bling items to suit your taste, I'm sure. |

Welcome to the best Buell site. The Classified section here is also very good. |

What about the basic stuff? Have all recalls been done (there were a fair amount, some small, some important for safety). Old bike with low mileage: not ridden a lot = left sitting a lot. Seals dry up. What shock is on there (I think that was one of the recalls, but even so, there are nice aftermarket units that will do you right). There are some serious wrenches on this site with s1's who can help you get sorted. Hopefully you can ride thru this season and use winter downtime to do some deep checking of stuff. Enjoy! |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/470187.html?1245671840 This shows the prospect hill intake. IIRC the buell race version only comes in carbon. You can modify a sportster ham can to fit. You just need to move the mounting posts to work with the hole location. Come over to the old school area... |

Good luck with the bike. I have a '97 M2 with Force air intake, Thunderstorm heads, V&HG exhaust. I'm 6' and all others banged my knee so see if you can sit on a bike or two before ordering the typical replacement (think HD 'ham can'). the Force is the best for my money. |
