So i replaced the bulb in my tail light because when I braked it would not get brighter. The 21 watt filament was broken so I replaced it, but I'm still not getting a bright braking light, only the dimmer running light. Brand new bulb. Possible wiring problem? |

Make sure the bulb is not installed 180 degrees wrong in the socket. If it's installed correctly, check that the metal tabs in the socket actually touch the bulb contacts. |

And a dab of dielectric grease to help keep a good contact. |

Use a probe style 12v testlight to make sure your getting 12v on both those lead dots in the socket. Velcro or rubber band the front brake on and wedge something in the rear brake to trip the switches. If you do then your new bulb is bad also. |

problem resolved yet? check under the ecm to make sure the brake lights is still connected (the STOP wire is separate from the one that runs all the way to the tail lamp). this one just runs up from the brake pedal |
