Once again, the Hal's staff kicks ass. The details don't matter here but, if you want to deal with people who know, ride and support the BMC, give them a call. Special thanks to Bud. |

I agree, Hal's rocks! On June 6th I took delivery of my '09 XB12Ss from Hal's Harley-Davidson/Buell of New Berlin, WI. Ryan was my salesman, and handled all of my requests like a professional. Ryan was not able to handle the delivery of the bike as he was headed up to Road America for the Superbike double-header. I had no problem with that as I am glad to see my dealership so involved with racing. Another tie-in with Buell that doesn't hurt is that the night before I took delivery on my bike, Erik was at the dealership playing with his band. Like I said, Ryan was not available, so I took delivery from Bud, who many BadWebers hold in high regard. Bud rides/races a Buell, is really passionate about them, and it shows. He set up my suspension for me, and I'll bet he shared more with me about the bike than he was required to, and it was definitely appreciated. Danny handled all of the paperwork, and did a great job. Even the H-D guys in the shop congratulated me on my purchase of a Buell. I never got the sense that Hal's was a H-D shop burdened with having to sell Buells; it seems they enjoy selling both product lines equally. I am coming up on 1,000 miles rather quickly, so I will soon learn what their service department is like, but I see no reason to doubt their capabilities yet. I gotta give some laud again to Hal's. As some of you may know, I lowsided the Buell this past Saturday (link: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/497221.html?1253626828). I called Jamie in the parts department at Hal's on Monday morning. Jamie had the shift pedal assembly, the flange bolt, the little socket head cap screw, and the frame puck in stock. I also ordered some gaskets and some Formula+ for my next service. I got their after work, and Jamie had everything set aside for me. IMO this is how a parts purchase should work. I am very pleased with Hal's parts department, and Jamie in particular. Bear in mind that Hal's, nor any other dealer for that matter, has absolutely every part in stock, but given my experience, Hal's along with some others, like Appleton, are very good at keeping Buell parts in stock. They also seem to be able to get parts quickly, if they are not in stock. I am sorry to read here about some folks having to wait for weeks for parts from other dealerships. I do have a little insight into this, as my wife works at the Harley-Davidson Distribution Center. She says that orders that come into the distribution center from dealers are filled almost immediately. So one could surmise, that if it is taking weeks for you to get a part from your dealer, then it is taking your dealer weeks to get around to ordering the part for you. If you can, I would look for another dealer... one like Hal's. |
