Trying to find a tank bag that will work on an xb, use as a back pach and have a way to carry my helmet. Any ideas? |

Carry your helmet how exactly? There was a thread floating out there on this or some other forum about a $15 talk bag made from a Wallyworld backpack. But my local Wally sucks big time, so I never find the cool stuff others go loony over. But as to carrying a helmet - are you talking about while you are riding? Seems as if it would be better off behind you, with a bungee net on the pillion. Or are you talking about after you get off the bike? |

After I get off the bike. I saw a magnetic mount one that has straps to attatch a helmet, but none that are strap mount. And I was also wondering if most non Buell tank bags block the air intake. |

I've heard of bonding metal or maby it was magnets under the air box lid so a mag mount tank bag would work. I went with a small tank bag that uses 2 straps in front, which I cut and bolted to the bike using the front air box screws, the rear uses 1 strap that I attached under the seat. Not exactly a backpack or able to hold a helmet but here's a couple pics so you can see the mounting method:
I still need to trim some of the pad away from the intake, mostly for cosmetic reasons though since it dosen't block the inlet as bad as it looks. |

That's a good idea. I could get the magnetic mount and rig some straps like that. Thanks guys! |

The alpine stars tech aero tank bag is really nice, though expensive. Not sure if it will fit. |

Fyi the astars bag is to big.. to bad, I liked it. The Buell tank bag just doesn't look like it would work so well as an off the bike bag to carry around and what not. I will look into others when I come back from vacation |
