Carry your helmet how exactly?

There was a thread floating out there on this or some other forum about a $15 talk bag made from a Wallyworld backpack. But my local Wally sucks big time, so I never find the cool stuff others go loony over. But as to carrying a helmet - are you talking about while you are riding? Seems as if it would be better off behind you, with a bungee net on the pillion. Or are you talking about after you get off the bike?

After I get off the bike. I saw a magnetic mount one that has straps to attatch a helmet, but none that are strap mount. And I was also wondering if most non Buell tank bags block the air intake.

I've heard of bonding metal or maby it was magnets under the air box lid so a mag mount tank bag would work. I went with a small tank bag that uses 2 straps in front, which I cut and bolted to the bike using the front air box screws, the rear uses 1 strap that I attached under the seat. Not exactly a backpack or able to hold a helmet but here's a couple pics so you can see the mounting method:

Rear

I still need to trim some of the pad away from the intake, mostly for cosmetic reasons though since it dosen't block the inlet as bad as it looks.

That's a good idea. I could get the magnetic mount and rig some straps like that. Thanks guys!

The alpine stars tech aero tank bag is really nice, though expensive. Not sure if it will fit.

Fyi the astars bag is to big..
to bad, I liked it. The Buell tank bag just doesn't look like it would work so well as an off the bike bag to carry around and what not. I will look into others when I come back from vacation
