The carbon fiber on my bike appears to have no clear coat, and I can feel the material. What would be a good product to reseal the carbon and make it glossy again? |

is it real carbon or a carbon look? i have wet sand it with 360 or 1200 grit paper depending on how bad it is.then you can either buff it out or clear coat it with a good urethane clear. |

go with the wetsand but instead of the urethane use epoxy resin then resand and buff to high gloss The urethane would work well on polyester resin with an adhesion prometer (works like clear primer)or a catalized clear as it heats as it cures giving a better bond. If the parts were made using epoxy resins getting any clear to stick without a rather coarse (600 grit) sanding then a sandable high fill primer and re-sand to 1200 and then color and clear coat. Epoxy resin also flashes as it cures so it will stick to polyester or old epoxy without delaminating. |
