I was wondering if anyone knows the internal pipe size, type of baffles, and flow paths that either of these mufflers use. I'm looking to keep my bottom end torque while getting better sound out of the bike. (I know I'm gonna catch flack for that statement, but hey loud pipes save lives right?) Anyway which one has better low rpm power and acceleration through to the mid-range and why? |

I have a special ops. It is just a stock muffler with the internal pipes removed then the whole exhaust shortened. The interactive exhaust valve is left in place to work like normal but without the internal pipes, it does nothing. but you won't throw a code because it isn't working. I didn't put enough miles on the stock to really know what the power difference may be. Check out the american sportbike exhaust shootout for dyno results. My bike is a 12x and the sound with the special ops is fairly loud, deep and thunderous. My only complaint is that is pops a lot on decel, even sometimes when I upshift. my bike is an 08 so no tuning, but i don't know if that would help anyway. |
