anybody got a trick for locking down the gears under the right case cover. In order to replace an oil pump drive gear. |

Put the transmission in 5th gear and use a wrench on the output sprocket nut. The maximum specified torque (45 or 21 LB*FT dpending on model year?) applied to the nut on the pinion shaft will do no harm to the drivetrain. (Message edited by Blake on March 29, 2009) |

And if you haven't gotten the old one off, heat the nut to soften the lock-tite. |
