hello all, I have bought a 2005 Xb12r (7,500kms) and love riding it. but idling along in traffic is a chore. The big engine idles smoothly but misses and fluffs occasionally up to 2000rpm. Above 2000 it smooths out and pulls like a freight train. When the engine heats up, the revs take a "while" to drop when I change up gears. So I have little or no engine braking when I close the throttle. The fuel economy is amazing, 18kms/ltr around town, its a great bike. Any input gratefully received, regards, Richard. |

I got your same bike, but mine is blue. Do you have any mods done? |

I recently opened my airbox up, and found out that the thru frame snorkel was removed. So, I cut the airbox, and put a K&N in it. Also did a breather reroute. It idles smoother, and dose'nt stumble at low RPM. This stuff is free, and seems to improve the overall smoothness of the bike. I still have stock exhaust. But I see that changing really soon! |
