Just received a Special Ops pipe from Odie today. And I'm wondering if Buell honors the warranty if you bring your bike in for work with a modified exhaust. Never had a problem with any of the Harleys I've owned. Just curious. I have to say again my Uley XT is the best handling and most fun bike I've owned/ridden in my 43+ years of riding' Bob |

Good question. If you'd read your owner's manual, it probably says to the effect, "Installing off-road or competition parts to enhance performance may void all or part of your new motorcycle warranty." But then it says, "See a Buell dealer for details." So I guess the answer is, it depends. What it might depend on is if the aftermarket exhaust causes something else on the motorcycle to break, like say, the engine crankcase where the exhaust mounts to. I'm guessing but I think a dealer would be reluctant to warranty a new crankcase to fix a problem that a non-Buell part caused. If I were you, I'd check with your dealer to get the right answer. What it might come down to is what is included and what's expressly excluded in Buell's warranty. And if you have an Extended Warranty, I'd check the wording in that document too. |

I think it has more to do with WHO installed it! |
