I'm rebuilding a motor in an X1, and have got my hands on thunderstorm pistons and heads from an M2, but I'm looking for cylinders and prefer to find something used instead of paying new price. I see on buell.com that the 9's and 12's have the same bore, so are the cylinders the same? I'm under the impression that the 9 combines a shorter stroke with a domed piston in the same cylinder - resulting in less displacement and the same compression. Anyone know if that's true? |

Bore is the same. Longer stroke on the 12. 9 pistons in a 12 give a higher static CR. |
