I have the top end off of my XB9 and noticed that the front rod has the slightest bit of side to side movement at the top, not sliding left to right on the crank, but an angled type movement, and the rear does not. There is absolutely no play up and down. The dealer told me that this is probably normal. anyone else got there top end off that could verify this for me?

that's how it should be, no worries. One thing to check is rolling the crank over slowly to see if you feel any tight spots. You will know if you feel one, and if you do that is a problem. I bet you won't find anything wrong.
