Big Texas howdy to everyone. This is my first post for my first Buell and I'm hoping to get some good advice. My Blast started giving me attitude last week and would start only when it wanted to. When it wouldn't, I would get only a loud "CLICK" when pressing the ignition button. I thought it was the battery, so I charged it up on a 10 amp car charger, ruined the battery and just got a new one from Walmart last night. I popped the new battery in and still nothing but "CLICK". I don't know where to go from here. Any advice or a copy of a service manual would be greatly appreciated.

*I can send a few bucks via Paypal to anyone willing to help me out on a manual*

THANKS!!!

Try jiggling the ignition switch. On my X1, the current for the solenoid goes through the switch, and I've seen more than one of them (mine included) get fried contacts. This doesn't allow enough current to make it to the solenoid to push it into the actual starter contacts at the end of its travel, and all you hear is a click.

I don't know if the same holds true for the Blast! since it uses a different ignition switch, but I'll bet the solenoid current still goes through it.

I live in Spring too coincidentally. I'd be happy to swing by and offer whatever help I can.

Check out the starter relay as well.

We fixed it. It was the solenoid contacts. Threw a rebuild kit in it and it fired right up. The lower contact was worn almost all the way through.

Hi, I have a similar problem. I have a 2002 blast and its turning over and I even had it running several times. But it has real problems with cold starting. To the point when i drain the battery trying to start it. I have changed the plug today and I am going to attempt to push start it and see if I can get it started. But why is it having these problems? The bike has only 850 miles. It has new gas in it and I even cleaned out the carbs. Do the automatic chokes go bad in these bikes?

please help,,,, i am pulling my hair out
