i like your site, pretty straight & to the point. i'm building a latus type exhaust and would like to know if anyone has any pics. of it mounted to your bike, mainly where the header goes to the muffler & the front strap (clamp). thank you & am looking forward to hearing from you guys!(i have a '08 xb9sx, also i"m in redmond, wa.)

Welcome fellow Washingtonian. You might check out the exhaust shootout that American Sportbike did.

I think the Latus might have been included, so there might be a photo or two. Also you can do a search within badweb. People have used and discussed them.

Good luck, someone should be able to help you get an idea how the front mounts.

I made my own out of an edelbrock muffler. I used the stock front and rear straps, it was literally a perfect fit. I bummed around for places that sold mandrel bends and picked up a couple U pieces the same diameter as the stock header and a band clamp like this

The section you make out of the bends will be right up against the body of the muffler. I cut the muffler inlet on the top so the bend would slide in and then heated and formed the rest of the inlet around the bend, welded it up and ground it smooth.

Oh and I used a stainless muffler and stainless bends. I will say the edelbrock muffler has a very deep "hit" to its sound.
