I am doing a major rebuilt on my xb12, including flywheel, pistons, cyls, etc

I have just installed xb9 pistons&cylinders on my xb12.

I am about to start it, but I am a bit worried about the cylinders. Is it OK to put xb9 cylinders to the xb12 engine ? Or will I have problems with valve clearance ?

I know that people put xb9 pistons in xb12 engines for greater compression ratio and performance. I got this idea from badweb. But what about the cylinders ?? Are they the same for the xb9 and xb12 ?

Yes, the cylinders are the same. They will have nothing to do with valve clearance.

You might consider claying the pistons before startup, just to ensure you have enough clearance. Taking an extra couple hours now might save you a bit of headache later.
