About a month ago I had the temp sensor changed (the one that controls the fan on the oil cooler Now fast forward to present day Oct in upstate NY, Cold. I start the bike the other day and it is running really erratically spitting and shuddering and seems to be running just on one cylinder …… really rich. So I go buy new plugs and pop them in there (Old plugs show signs of running really rich and were wet when I took them out, after running). Starts fine and then within minutes is does the same thing, but if I rev the engine to 2500 RPM is clears up and then seems to run fine from 2000/2500 RPM up. Let it idle and it starts spitting and shuddering again. So its cold out and I figure I will get it out and open her up (20 minute ride) and now it’s idling and running fine. But once cold it’s spitting and shuddering again. 2003 XB9r with Buell race kit (Pipe, ECM, Fuel filter) Temp sensor changed about a month ago, bike was quitting after short rides. Local Buell dealer identified this sensor as bad. Does the ECM need to be reset with the change of this sensor? Seems like when the bike is cold the fuel system is delivering way too much fuel, once warm though runs fine. Any ideas ? |
