i'm buying a new 09 xb12Scg and i want to remove the "cheese grater" from the rear. i'm not sure what it's actually called but some folks referred to it as such. any tips on removing it and does it void the warranty if you do hack it off? |

Nothing you do will void your warrenty as long as it does not cause a claim. In other words, If you eliminate your cheese grater and that causes your tailsection to fall off, Buell has the option to not repair your tailsection. They will not refuse a claim for a bad cylinder base gasket because you removed your cheesegrater. Believe this- Buell wants you to be happy with your bike and will prove it. I hope this helps. Your next door neighbor, Dan. I hope Gene aint mad at me because I didn't talk you out of buying a Buell! |

Happy1, If you do a search on this site there are lots of how to's and pics on this subject. It doesn't look to hard, if you're handy with a drimel tool. BTW welcome aboard and ride safe! |
