The bike has 8K on it. It is in excellent running condition but I had a small problem today. I took it on a 65 mile ride, I had the bright lights on for safety. I stopped for a few minutes than tried to start it. It would not start, no clicking, nothing. It has a new battery. After about 15 minutes it started right up. I kind of think the bright lights were too much draw on the battery but I'm not sure, Any ideas as to what's wrong? Thanks |

No, riding with high beams on won't affect the charging system; the bike was designed for those loads. It sounds like there is a loose connection somewhere. First thing I'd check is the tightness of the battery cables. Make sure the cable hold-down screws on the battery posts are not too long. Some folks with this problem put a washer under the screw head to solve this; others shorten the screw with a file or grinder. |
