Seems like going from a higher restriction filter to a lower restriction filter would benefit from a re-jet. Or at least changing the air fuel mixture. On my 2000 M2, The main was fine (something huge, forget what) but the low speed jet needed bumped up, and the fuel air mixture screw needed to come out. There is boilerplate in the knowledge vault (200 main jet, 45 low speed jet, 2.5 turns out on the fuel air mixture screw? Better check it, thats a 5 year old memory...) What year is your M2? Does it have the new "upside down Y" cast exhaust mount? If not, you want it... (Message edited by reepicheep on August 21, 2008) |

Hey! Good for me! I kept it in my profile, where I logged everything I did to the M2... here is what I recored (4300 is the milage I did it at)...
quote:4300 Replaced slow jet with a 45 (fast jet was already a 200) and turned air mix screw out 2.5 turns. Huge improvement in runnability and seems to run cooler... I view this as a reliability upgrade, not a performance upgrade.

All you need to know is jet size you need, and what brand carb (and model)...ie; #22.5 pilot jet for Mikuni TM32...Bad news (at least in my area) is that shops don't stock any carb jets..maybe someone here has one they could mail ya!! |
