Does anyone know what would cause my rear brake light to work but NOT the front brake light OR the tail light? I see that the front brake switch is the likely culprit if the front brake isn't causing the brake light to come on. Will this effect the tail light too if the switch is bad? Any help would be most appreciated, thanks. |

No, front brake switch has NO effect on tail light, different circuit. Check your frt. brake switch, and also check the bulb itself (for tail light problem) |

Both elements light up when I touch the rear. I don't know what to think yet. Thank you very for the input! This does help. |

wiring problem (bad connection, faulty ground, crossed wires) or bad front brake switch or any combo of above............. obviously, the rear pressure switch functions, and the bulb works. the brake filament should only be on when brakes (front and/or rear) actuate. the taillight filament should always be lit, but shouldn't change brightness with brake application. the front switch controls brake filament only, not tail filament |

Thank you guys. I had it serviced not long ago for my 10K , which is fairly involved. Maybe something got switched around or loosened somehow by accident or it was just that time. But be that as it may, with the manual and the suggested possibilities of the source from you guys I'll keep at it and give an account of what it was. I do value the help!!! |

Thanks Fasted and Packrat and the collective. Front brake switch took out bulb but it still "worked" which threw me. As stated bulb can be NFG and still illuminate, but not as god intended. Thanks. Joy |
