With the changes made to the '03' belt how long would you run one? What life should you expect to get? When would you change it? My first one didnt last 12k I'm pushing 18k on the second and thinking about riding it til it breaks. |

I had 12k on mine when I swapped the whole setup for the '04 and up gear. Now I just dont worry about it. |

My '03 XB9R got its' third one around 16k miles (changed by previous owner), now 21k and crossing fingers... I hope newer ones are more durable. Offtopic: Cause or consequence, mine is missing belt guards. Nowhere to buy, not even used? |

Sorry to bump an old thread but I've got almost 35,000 miles on my original stock '03 belt. Looks like it's still got plenty of life left in it. Will update once it decides to let go. |

This also interests me.. I have an original 04' belt with exactly 30k miles on it now. I've heard several people say that they recommend changing them at 60k just to be safe, but I'm sure they can last a bit longer if you don't do wheelies. Those probably broke because a small pebble got between the sproket and the belt; happens all the time.. |
